What is StaxSpec?
StaxSpec is a lightweight system profiler designed to provide clear, structured insight into hardware and OS characteristics. It focuses on predictable, script‑friendly output that operators can trust — without requiring elevated permissions, external services, or heavy dependencies.
The current preview version is Python‑accelerated, offering fast access to CPU, memory, thermal, and kernel information. As development progresses, StaxSpec will transition toward a Rust‑powered core for improved performance, portability, and long‑term maintainability.
StaxSpec is built to integrate seamlessly with the StaxDash ecosystem, providing the foundational system‑level data that future modules and dashboards will rely on. It is early in development, but its direction is clear: a reliable, local‑first introspection tool for real operators.
Example Output
StaxSpec is still in early development. Below is a mock example of the structured system‑profiling output it will provide.

Why People Use StaxSpec
Clear, Structured Output
StaxSpec presents hardware and OS information in predictable sections — ideal for operators who need clarity without noise or clutter.
Local‑First Introspection
All profiling happens on your machine. No cloud, no accounts, no external lookups — just safe, local system insight.
Lightweight & Extensible
The preview version is Python‑accelerated for rapid iteration, with a Rust‑powered core planned for long‑term performance and portability.
Looking Ahead: StaxSpec Roadmap
StaxSpec is early in development, but its direction is clear: a reliable, local‑first system profiler that integrates seamlessly with the StaxDash ecosystem. Future updates will introduce deeper hardware detection, extended thermal reporting, and optional JSON output for automation.
Long‑term plans include a Rust‑based core, device‑level introspection, and integration with the upcoming StaxDash GUI — forming the foundation for real‑time system insight.
